Toning and Resistance Training with Stretch Bands

Toning your body by way of resistance training no longer requires that you spend thousands of dollars on gym memberships while you lose a lot of time commuting to and from the gym, or waiting in line to work out on a single machine. You may have thought of building your own home gym so that you do not have to contend with the hassles of tavel every time you need to work out, but the costs of renovating home space to make way for your gym, plus the thousands of dollars you will spend on  bulky, massive pieces of fitness equipment may turn you off the idea.

Many opt to go with aerobic exercises, such as power walking or jogging to help tone their bodies and gain strength and stamina. Some fitness buffs make do with simple exercises that use their own body weight to build some muscle. However, these endeavors are not always effective, as the conditioning these activities provide do not target all of the essential muscle groups, or offer much in the way of resistance training. These options are not useless, per se, if toning or muscle rehabilitation is your fitness goal, but these can serve to supplement a low- or high-impact exercise regimen using resistance bands as fitness equipment.

Fitness bands or stretch bands are not exactly cutting-edge technology, although these implements have survived through the years due to the logic behind the apparently simple construction of these devices. Resistance training can be aimed at any body part, with dozens of exercises that can be accomplished and varying levels of difficulty that depend on the tensile strength of the elastic cord system.
